I’m heading towards Bellingham for a day trip. Going to try Chukanut drive, but after that.... No clue. Any recommendations for good roads or places to see? I haven’t explored up north much, so it’s basically all new to me other than the city of Bellingham itself
I’m thinking about taking highway 20 west on the way back, going through Oak Harbor and Whidbey Island.

Not sure how you resisted jumping out, tearing off that license plate Clark Griswold style, and tossing it to the side of the road.
I’ve only done Chuckanut behind other cars. That’s an issue with many roads in that area, especially when nice weather is upon us - they are tourism magnets, and you might end up in a queue. Highway 9 might be more scenic if you like hills and mountains.

I bet the driver is a peach, too.
9 can be nice once you get past Arlington or so, and especially past Mount Vernon or Sedro.
